Ina-Garten
Ina Garten has been a popular American writer of cook books over the years. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa, which started in 2002. Ina started her career as a writer in the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget and policy documents. Although she initially found it interesting, she soon became bored. Then she bought the Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food retailer. It took her 18 years to make the shop hugely successful, and then sold it. She then began to write the first of many cookbooks. Other cookbooks followed, as did magazine columns. The Food Network TV show also debuted which was an enormous success. In addition, she sells a variety of products ranging from cooking supplies to storage and equipment. Ina did not go to a cooking institute and hasn't worked in restaurants. She is self-taught. She is an easy cook, and also for her entertaining manner. Some of her best known recipes include the Skillet-Roasted lemon Chicken Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac and Cheese Beef Bourguignon Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Lemon Bars.
