Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played the character. However, her parents did not permit her to perform until she was an adult, for fear of the impact stress might have on their daughter. Perry claims she never wanted to become an actor during high school, but she decided to begin playing as a way to make friends at Northwestern University when she switched to it from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry moved to New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led Perry back home to California where she found acting work. The Other Place was performed by her mother and her in 2013 on Broadway in 2013 Perry was in the show with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 at The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes in 2016 of ABC's drama The Family. In 2017, she had a minor role on ABC's thriller about politics Scandal that starred her father. She played an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off series that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was an additional portrayal that was younger of her mother. The role was selected via auditions the fact that she had a deep connection with it.
